TERMINOLOGY:
- Clean work is when you are tweezing hairs that have nothing to do with the actual eyebrow shape.
- Design work is when you are shaping, fixing or realigning the actual brow shape. Design work is only done on the hairs that are the closest to the actual brow.
Types of Tweezers:
Brands we recommend:
1. Slanted Tweezer
FOR:
Cleaning and design work, for all hair types.
I highly recommend this Tweezer for pretty much all of your cleaning up and design work.
Because of the ability to grasp hairs quickly and neatly, you can very easily do one eyebrow job with just one tweezer.
2. Wide Grip Slanted or Body Tweezer
FOR:
the best grip, or if needed to work quickly.
This tweezer fits perfectly in the hand and gives an excellent job in cleaning and shaping the brow. I find myself reaching for this tweezer over and over again. If you can only get one tweezer, make sure it’s the wide grip slant tweezer. You won’t regret it.
3. Pointed Tweezer
FOR:
ingrown or tiny hairs.
This tweezer is used for final clean up work at the end of the tweezing service. You can grab the tiny, super short, or little black ‘dots’ that most tweezers just won’t be able to get. Excellent in giving your client that pefect clean ‘just like waxing‘ services.
3a. Pointed Slant Tweezer
FOR:
clean up work, grabbing thin or too short hairs.
Because of the pointed tip and the fact that this tweezer also has a slant, in some cases I find that this tweezer can get hairs that the pointed Tweezer is not able to. I keep this on hand and often times, switch between the two to make sure that every hair is removed.
4. Round Tip Tweezer
FOR:
Sensitive skin, and/or coarse hair, ability to work quickly.
If I have a brow that needs a lot of clean up work and I don’t have much time, I will grab the Round Tip tweezer. Why? There’s absolutely no fear of sticking, poking or hurting the client with this tweezer and I’m able to work extremely fast because of it. Also great for having to pull very thick, coarse hairs that sometimes slip through the slant or pointed tweezer.
Scissors
1. Cuticle Scissor Curved Tip
FOR:
Trimming too long brow hairs.
This is vital for trimming brows perfectly. Do not use a flat or straight blade scissor, no matter how small to trim brows. The slanted tip of the cuticle scissor gives the perfect tip to the hair as you cut.
Working Tools
1. Mascara Wands / Disposable

FOR:
brushing and shaping hair as you clean and design brow shape.
Using disposable mascara wands keeps bacteria and dirt away and makes for a sanitary experience for the client. Since plastic is harder to sanitize and keep clean, it’s best to dispose the wand after each client or to give to the client directly. If the brush has come in contact with any blood while tweezing, it’s best to throw the brush away completely.
2 Spatula: / Metal

FOR:
For measuring the line of the brow.
For measuring and aligning brows. Use in place of a pencil or ruler which can be too bulky or give a off reading.
